How Primary Care has changed animations launched

Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS) are highlighting how Primary Care has changed with a series of animations aimed at informing patients of the highly skilled healthcare team that make up their GP Practice.

The animations which are available here highlight the roles of the receptionist, physiotherapists, clinical pharmacists, community paramedics, nurse practitioners and social prescribing link workers. As well as informing patients about online consultations and children and young people’s mental health.

Your GP practice is a key member of NHS primary care services - those providing the first point of contact in the NHS healthcare system.

Primary care services include:

  • General practice also known as your GP practice
  • Community pharmacies
  • Dental services
  • Optometry (eye health) services

GP practice staff are there to support patients throughout their lives - helping you manage your health and prevent illness. They work closely with other professionals such as health visitors, midwifes, mental health services and social services, and if your GP practice can’t support with an issue, they may refer you to hospital or another NHS service for tests, treatment or to see a specialist.

It's always worth getting to know how your practice works and the key members of their team, so that when you need assistance you'll be prepared.
