Have you downloaded the Frimley Healthier Together App?

It can be extremely stressful when your child is unwell. We know that there is a huge amount of information available at your fingertips, but finding something that provides clear and accurate information is not always easy!

The resources on the Healthier Together website and app, have been developed in partnership between parents and healthcare professionals.

You'll find clear information on common childhood illnesses, including advice on what 'red-flag' signs to look out for, where to seek help if required, what you should do to keep your child comfortable and how long your child's symptoms are likely to last.

The website is designed to support parents and carers of new-borns right through the teenage years and there are also information sections young people can access directly to get health and wellbeing advice.

Now, for the first time the Frimley Healthier Together app can provide advice on adult respiratory symptoms, such as cough, flu and Covid-19. Parents and carers can now create adult profiles, alongside the ones they already hold for their children, making it easier when thinking about family health.

Most importantly, these resources are used not only by parents but also by healthcare professionals. This means that your child is likely to receive consistently high quality care, irrespective of which healthcare provider you take them to see. And their advice is likely to mirror that on the Healthier Together website. Reducing unnecessary variation improves the overall quality of care and reduces the parental anxiety that inconsistent advice generates.

Local Slough GP Dr Bharan Kumar told us:

"We enthusiastically endorse the Frimley Healthier Together app for its invaluable contribution to our healthcare services at Bharani Medical Centre. During last December's group A strep outbreak, this app proved to be a game-changer.

"The app's user-friendly interface and comprehensive content ensured that parents received vital information when their child is unwell. The remarkable uptake that we've seen by parents demonstrates their trust in this resource.

"As we approach winter and the pressures it can bring for our healthcare system, the Healthier Together App has become an indispensable tool in our mission to deliver high-quality healthcare. We wholeheartedly endorse this app for its pivotal role in providing exceptional healthcare to our patients."

Make sure you’re prepared ahead of time and download the Healthier Together App today to ensure you have the advice you need at your fingers tips.
