Time to talk day 2nd February
Join in for Time to Talk Day
It’s ok to ask for help – don’t struggle alone.
One in four people are affected by a mental health problem every year. That's why Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System are encouraging people to make 2 February Time to Talk Day.
Katie Simpson (GP in Dedworth Medical Centre, Windsor and Clinical Lead for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Frimley ICB), said “The winter months can be really difficult, especially now with the cost-of-living crisis and it’s vital we look after our mental wellbeing.”
“We are encouraging everyone to make space in their day for a conversation about mental health. By supporting people to talk about it we can help ourselves and others. Talking about mental health isn't easy, but a conversation has the power to change lives.”
“We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health – whenever they like. Talking about mental health reduces stigma, helping to create supportive communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.”
There is no right or wrong way to talk about mental health; however, the Mind website has some useful tips to help make sure you’re approaching it in a helpful way.
To find out how you can get involved and start the conversation, visit the Time to Talk Day website.
Information on a range of local services available to support your mental health can also be found by visiting the mental wellbeing section on the Frimley Health and Care website. This includes details on how you can refer yourself to your local talking therapy provider.
