Impact of Industrial Action on Frimley Health
Health bosses are reminding the public to only attend emergency departments at Frimley Park Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital in the event of serious injury or life threatening illness.
With hospitals at Frimley Park and Wexham Park only able to provide a ‘Christmas Day’ level of service during the current national strike action by the BMA, hospital doctors who are still working are supporting patients in most urgent need. On Monday 2 October – the first day of the latest industrial action – 879 patients attended, significantly more than would normally be expected.
Most health services outside of hospital remain open as normal during the latest period of industrial action, which started at 7am on Monday and will end at 7am on Thursday 5 October.
Please remember:
- GP surgeries, community pharmacies remain open, so continue to use these services as normal.
- If you are unsure of what service to choose, visit NHS 111 online or call 111.
- If your child is unwell visit NHS Frimley Healthier Together for support to help manage a range of common childhood illnesses.
- The Minor Injury Unit at Brants Bridge, Bracknell, RG12 9RT, is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm – no appointment needed, you can walk in. You can search for your nearest minor injury unit or urgent care service here: Find Urgent Care services
If you have an appointment at Frimley Park Hospital or Wexham Park Hospital, please attend as normal unless you have been contacted in advance.
