Information, advice and myth-busting at free online health event for women
Women are being urged to sign up for an online event to give them a better understanding of a range of health issues.
“Looking after yourself: A focus on women’s health” is the second in a series of webinars aimed at supporting people to have greater control over their own health and wellbeing.
Subjects being discussed will include pelvic health, periods, contraception, pregnancy, as well as anything that audience members want to ask about.
The event, between 7 and 8pm on Wednesday, 20 November, is a combined effort by NHS and Public Health leaders within the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System. An expert panel will include the Head of Service in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, GPs with special interest and knowledge in women’s health, a Public Health consultant, a medicines management pharmacist and an advanced practice physiotherapist.
Dr Lalitha Iyer, the Chief Medical Officer of NHS Frimley, will chair the panel. She said: “We know from our work in supporting local women to manage their health that knowledge and confidence varies enormously from one woman to the next.
“Our hope is that by bringing together experts in women’s health during this session we can provide useful information in a simple and accessible way to help all women to understand their bodies better.
“We will also be sharing links to trusted sources of information and will look at some of the most common myths about women’s health."
People joining the session will be able to put their own questions to the panel.
