Looking after yourself: A focus on high blood pressure
On 20th September, 2023, a public engagement and information event was held to raise awareness and support people to be able to manage their blood pressure.
Looking after yourself: a focus on high blood pressure, was aimed at members of the public, to help them understand blood pressure, what it means to have high blood pressure, what causes it and what can help to manage or lower it.
The event featured an expert panel, made up of:
- Dr Lalitha Iyer, NHS Frimley Chief Medical Officer, Living Well Ambition Lead & Slough GP
- Shahed Ahmad, National Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Disease
- Dr Nithya Nanda, Frimley Health and Care Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Disease & Slough GP
- Tessa Lindfield, Director of Public Health, Berkshire East
- Yousaf Ahmad, Frimley Health and Care Chief Pharmacist and Director of Medicines Optimisation
- Dr Annabel Buxton, Frimley Health and Care Clinical Lead for Bracknell & Bracknell GP
A local lady, Natalie, had very kindly spoken with us ahead of the meeting to describe the impact of a stroke she had in 2015. A video of her story was played in the meeting.
