Healthy eating
Our diet is one of the most important aspects of our lives when it comes to maintaining our health and wellbeing.
The food and drink we take into our bodies – and the amounts – impact on both our short-term and our long-term health.
The dietary habits we form as children are particularly important, not only as they can reduce the likelihood of chronic conditions developing but also because it’s easier to continue with a healthy lifestyle in adulthood if it was begun in our early years.
A healthy, balanced diet, combined with good activity levels and a positive environment, help to regulate our weight and blood pressure and reduce the risks of us developing heart disease, diabetes, cancer, muscular and joint problems, or of suffering a heart attack or stroke.
