WorkWell

WorkWell is a joint initiative from the Department of Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care with the vision of a healthier and more productive nation.
Frimley are one of just 15 places around the country chosen to deliver the WorkWell scheme working in partnership with local providers of health, wellbeing, employment, and skills support.
WorkWell aims to provide a free, one-to-one work support service, helping people with health issues and/or disabilities to get back to or remain in work by supporting them, or connecting them to relevant local support providers.
If you live in or are registered with a GP in the Frimley Health and Care system, this includes Bracknell, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Slough, North East Hampshire, Farnham or Surrey Heath, WorkWell can help you.
If you would like to refer, please complete the referral form.
Sometimes people need a little help to get back on track, and with one-to-one support from a WorkWell coach, this increases your chances of returning to work sooner or prevents you from taking sick leave.
People who are absent from work due to a health condition, such as mental health, musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, or respiratory conditions often struggle to return to work after a period of sickness leave.
WorkWell is a joint initiative from the Department of Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care with the vision of a healthier workforce and a more productive nation.
Eligibility criteria for the WorkWell programme is anyone aged 16 and over and has the right to work in the UK:
- who lives in or is registered with a GP within the eligible areas (Slough, Surrey Heath, Farnham and North East Hampshire).
- who is currently worried about how their health is impacting their ability to start, return to, or stay in work.
- who is in work, needs support returning to work, or is out of work for up to six months, or is facing health-related barriers.
A WorkWell coach is there to help people improve their health and thrive in employment.
However, we also link individuals who have been out of work longer and need more complex support to return to work with services that can provide longer-term support.
This is a free service for individuals experiencing health issues, whether they are already out of work on a Fit Note or believe they may be about to be signed off sick.
You can self-refer, speak to your GP practice and organisations can also refer people to this service, just ask your employer.
Step 1: Register for a WorkWell coach using the referral form.
Step 2: Support session with a WorkWell coach is scheduled.
Step 3: A one-to-one personalised action plan is created, signposting the relevant support.
Step 4: Ongoing support with a WorkWell coach to assess your wellbeing and work progress.
The WorkWell coach will support you and guide you to the right local help and support, usually within 7 days.
Depending on a person's health and employment needs, the WorkWell Employment and Skills Coach will develop a personalised support plan with you and signpost you to local support services.
Employment and skills support will be offered, including exploring new careers, liaising with employers to see how they can meet the employee's needs in the workplace, learn to know your rights, CV building and help looking for work and training.
WorkWell is a low intensity work and health support programme which is not anticipated to support long-term, however actual duration will depend on the personalised development plan.
WorkWell is delivered by Frimley Integrated Care Board (ICB) and the UK Government.
